The 18-24 month room is designed especially for this age group for a fun, busy and exciting day. When children reach this age they need a little more stimulation and so this is what the 18-24 month unit provides an opportunity to develop all key areas and a place that still provides lots of nurturing that is still required at this age. This unit like all our units is designed to be very bright to aid stimulation, build confidence and make it a bright, cheery environment for children and staff. Toys and equipment are all selected carefully to ensure it is age appropriate to help enhance all areas of development. Outdoor play is very important at Teeny Tots and the children in this room go on regular walks daily and have easy access to our outdoor play area.
In our 18-24 month unit we have 3 permanent members of staff who work hard as a team to care for the children to the best of their ability to create a home from home experience. We operate a maximum of 3:1 ratio in the 18-24 month unit. Each child is allocated a member of staff who will be their key worker and your main point of contact. It is the key worker's responsibility to provide you with a daily diary containing all the information you need to know, such as, meals, sleep, nappies, activities and how your child has been during the day. Please feel free to mention anything (big or small) that you want us to pay attention to. Your child's key worker will also make a file for your child to keep art work in and write a quarterly report on your child showing your child's progress. This is a nice keep sake to take with you when your child moves on to 'big school'.
As well as striving to give your child the most excellent childcare possible we also provide nutritious meals and snacks, milk and fresh drinking water with and between meals and clean bed linen and blankets when your child needs to sleep.
You need to provide nappies, wipes and formula milk and at least one spare change of clothes each day. Please also bring coats, hats and gloves and sunscreen.
Please dress your child in comfortable play clothes so that they can take part in various activities with out the worry of wear and tear.
